Hit by the flu

24th December 2008

Since midnight on Saturday 20th December the Flu has had its merry game

flubug

86 hours incapacitated. This has been the first time I have ever had REAL flu, not man flu, a bad cold but the real 100% McCoy. At one point having used up almost every analgesic in the house, in the car, in the shed, behind the sofa and stuck in the inside of the little pocket of the wash bag I used on the business trip to Prague three years ago I then realised what a useful an important invention paracetamol actually was. As my mouth become dryer then dry a mouthed mackerel in the Sahara desert ,to badly quote  Rowan Atkinson (Ben Elton). Not having passed water through my mouth or anywhere else for 10 hours or so I thought it would be proper to take advice as I was worried that the virus may have turned into a throat infection and perhaps an anti-biotic may be a solution. I fought with the usual knowledge that ant-biotic do not kill viruses but the doctor concluded that this was exactly the symptoms of the strain running a riot in the Uk at the moment and I was just going to have to sweat it out!!

Hoping by now to have had all my 2009 predictions written these will now have to wait for a few more days but as a 'starter for ten' here are the headings:
