Just Giving to just giving!

It is a very good service... Maybe?

The Just Giving Website always seemed like a very good solution of easily giving to a charity, keeping track of donations and all in all a good web solution. I was, however, a little surprised to find out that it made a turn on every donation. Now I am sure it says it on the site, but like most people I never even thought about it as it was working out the additional tax free amount and just making my life easier.
So on one hand I say well done to the very clever team who created the site, built the brand and made it the most successful site in its sector but I think they could make a big turn around to the negative PR over the last few days if the openly stated that they are going to change the model to free and gain revenue from other sources such as advertising.
A number of 'free' solutions have already raised their heads including a solution from Richard and his 'Virgin' Team (see below)
Branson launches online promo for non-profit giving service
LONDON - Richard Branson has launched an online non-profit service for donating to charities, with an online promotion promising to donate £5 for each video people upload of themselves doing the "running man" dance.
Virginmoneygiving.com will provide an alternative to services such as Justgiving.com, which make it easy for fundraisers to collect donations from friends and family.
The promotion for the site asks people to upload a video of themselves doing the "running man" dance to trigger a £5 donation to Branson's Virgin Unite Foundation.
It all ties in with Virgin's sponsorship of the London Marathon beginning next year. Branson is to run in the marathon and is also looking for a running partner via a separate website, Runwithrichard.com.
Aspiring partners need to tell him what they would do with the fundraising chance of a lifetime by submitting either 50 words or a video clip.
