Start up Southampton

Southampton should make an effort to join the Governments search for the most entrepreneurial place in Britain
It is just a quick thought for a Sunday afternoon. But it ties in so strongly with Southampton's need to lead the region and become a city with passion and goal to be the best.
If we launch a campaign to monitor and encourage start ups we can identify how well we are doing, pick out the winners, enter the competition and build on the aspiration that Southampton could become the most productive new business city in the UK.
This works on any number of levels and would reinforce and support our city idealistic brand statement of innovation. We need a catchy idea to get people interested and signed up immediately they get a business going or make a break through. What about SUS - Start up Southampton ....
